  15.      It has been found that some Hayes 2400 baud modems are not configured
  16.      correctly to work with NetWare V2.0 and above ASYNC Bridges.  The same
  17.      Bridge, however, will work with a Hayes 1200 baud modem.  The error
  18.      displayed on the screen by the 2400 baud modem response program reads
  19.      "The modem (if it exists) is not responding to initialization efforts."
  20.      On the 2400 baud modem, check to see if the firmware is set to the
  21.      factory settings.  To do this, you should run the communication package
  22.      of your choice. While in terminal mode, type the following:

  24.      AT&F&W
  25.  
  26.      The modem will then respond with an "OK." This will indicate that your
  27.      modem is now set to the factory settings.  In most cases, resetting the
  28.      modem as done above corrects the problem.
